The commemorative ten cent coin features a traditional Chinese junk sailing boat on its front and the Bauhinia flower, the symbol of Hong Kong on its back. The coin is nickel brass, the swivel backing is copper and the entire cufflink is plated in 18k gold to match the colour of a newly minted coin.

Diameter of coin is 17.5mm, and shows fine detailing of the junk boat.
